小さな子と絵を描くこと Drawing for small children

もうすぐJul（クリスマス）。

具体的な絵がまだ描けない1ー3歳時は、先生との合作でJul Tomte（クリスマスにまつわる妖精→リンク）の絵を描いていた。

まず、子どもたちが黒ペンで思うがままにTomte（らしきもの）を描く。
次に、先生がそれぞれの絵の中にTomteを見つけ出して、Tomteの顔を描き込んで行く。

小さい子の絵は、何か具体的なものを描いたつもりであっても、本人以外には何かよく分からないものが多い。これはこれで良いのだけれど、なかなか鑑賞しにくい。
先生が少し手を加えてくれることで、小さい子の絵でもクリスマス飾りとして上手く活かせている。

子供自身にとっても、先生とやり取りしながら、自分の絵の中にTomteを再発見することは楽しかっただろう。

タイトルは「Tomte i snöstrom（吹雪の中のトムテ）」。

小さい子向けの絵の描き方として面白かったものを、もうひとつ。

4人の子が、絵の具の入ったコップ４色分（ひとつのコップに一色）を一緒に使って、一枚の画用紙に絵を描く。

色を交換したり絵を混ざり合わせたりする中で、子どもたちは会話やボディランゲージそして絵を通してコミュニケーションをする。そしてその結果が目の前で、色や形として現れる。
色や形の面白さや、一緒に描くことやコミュニケーションの楽しさを小さい子が体感できる良い方法だ。

出来上がった絵は額に入れられ、Dagisの部屋を格好よく飾っている。

我が子の通うDagis（保育園）ではこの秋にクラス替えがあり、以前は各クラスに1歳から5歳まで混在していたのが1ー3歳クラスと3歳ー5歳クラスになった。
これによって、先生たちは子どもたちの年齢にあった内容を提供しやすくなったようだ。
今回の絵の描き方も、先生たちが小さい子のための描き方を考えたからこそだと思う。

Merry JUL! (Christmas)

Last weeks, children prepared something for the Christmas in the dagis (child day care).
Small children cannot draw well of course. But a small help made the children’s drawing nicely. In our dagis, a child drew the Jul Tomte with black pen, as the way he wanted. Then, a teacher draw a hat, eyes and a mouse on the children’s drawing. I guess that it will be fun for the children to find out the Tomte on their drawings during the communication with the teacher. For the parents, it is also nice since this small help made the child drawing “recognizable” and can be the ornament for the Christmas. (Photo1,2)

Four chldren shared four colors, each of which color was in a cup.
By trading cups and mixing colors with other children, they learn communication. Their collaborated drawing is the result of their communication.
All the age classes were mixed in our dagis before the summer. But after the summer, children were divided into elder ones (3-5 years old) and younger ones (1-3 years old). This new arrangement was good for the children as their teachers become to think of more suitable plays for the children's ages than before.
These drawing ways that I presented here would not be applied if the new age arrangement was not done. (Photo3,4)
