サマーハウスで暮らすこと To live in the summer house

～「友人のサマーハウス」の続き～
友人の両親が住んでいるサマーハウスの話（リンク1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6）の続きです。特に「6 自然に囲まれて」の写真を見て頂くと、今回の記事をイメージしやすいです。


このサマーハウスのオーナーである奥さんにここで暮らす上での良い点・悪い点を尋ねた。

まず、悪い点については…
・冬の時期、雪や凍結がひどいと職場に遅刻する可能性がある。
・中心地区に住んでいると5分で職場に着くのに、サマーハウスからは20分かかる。
　車のガソリン代もその分高くつく。
・子どもたちがそろって帰ってきた時には狭い。

そして良い点については...
自然に囲まれた暮らしが伝わってくる素敵な内容だったので、彼女の了解を得、以下にそのまま記載します。
私は、スウェーデン人の暮らしを見たり話を聞く中で、彼女ような暮らし方は決して彼女に特別なのではなく、スウェーデン人に一般的な暮らし方なのだと感じています。

Well, the good things are many. 
良い点はたくさんあります。

I like being close to nature. Like watching the birds that arrive in the spring from the south of Europe or even Africa. Some come here to nest and others stop here to rest for a while before they fly on further north.
私は自然の傍にいるのが好きなのです。春には南ヨーロッパやアフリカから渡ってくる鳥たちを見たりしてね。彼らはここで巣を作ったり、さらに北に向かう中でここでしばらく休憩したりしています。

I like to see the animals when they come close to the house. It can be moose, raindeer, deer and fox and arctic hare. In May I see artic hare every morning on our lawn, on the grass outside the house. I also like to study the different  insects I find in the summer. I look them up in a book and write down the date I saw them...
In spring and summer I like to have breakfast outside, To sit in the morningsun and look at the water etc before going to work.
私は動物たちが家の傍に来ているのを見るのも好きです。ヘラジカだったりトナカイ、シカ、キツネ、北極ウサギなどです。5月には北極ウサギが毎朝庭にやって来ます。私は虫の勉強もしているんですよ。夏に見つけた虫たちは本で調べて見た日を書き留めておきます。
春から夏には、屋外で朝食を食べるのも好きです。朝日のなかで水や他の色々な物を眺めてから出勤します。

I like to wach the sunset in the evening and the sunrise in the morning. The colors in the sky, the formations of the clouds and how colors reflect in the water.
日の入りや日の出を見るのも好きです。空の色や雲の形、それらの色が水に映り込む色合いも。

I like to follow the different seasons, to clearly see how the sun rises earlier and earlier day by day in January and February. How the morning is dark black in Januari at 6.30 and how a red light shows at the horizon later in Januari and grows, day by day and finally I see part of the sun and later the whole sun at 6.30. I is so interesting!
それぞれの季節を 追ってゆくのが好きです。1月や2月に日の出が日に日に早くなる様。1月では朝6時半は真っ暗闇。そこから次第に水平線に赤い光が現れ、太陽の一部が現れ、そして太陽全体が現れる様。

I like to look at the stars at night and  I like to see the moon. Sometimes.like in August and September the moonlight makes a shiny "road" on the water. 
夜の星や月を見るのも好きです。8月や9月には時々、月光が水面に輝く道を作りだします。

I also like to follow how the flowers come up in spring and to follow them from bulb to ready flower, I like to follow the changes of seasons in the trees, their different shades of green, yellow, red...
春に花が咲いていく様や球根から花が咲く様、木々が緑・黄・赤と季節ごとに変化して行く様を追うのも好きです。

I like to wake up early in the morning, go out and enjoy the calm weather (the sea is usually calm until 8 in the morning) see  the birds that swim close to the shore, or to rest in the shade..or sun.
私は朝早く起きるのが好きです。外に出て穏やかな天気を楽しんだり（海は通常朝8時までは穏やかなのです）、海岸近くを泳いだり日陰や日向で休む鳥を眺めます。

I like to be able to walk in the forest, pick and eat the berries and in the autumn to look for mushrooms. 
I like the sauna.
I like to swim in the sea when the water is not too cold. 
I like to go out with the boat/canoe.
森を散歩できるのも良い点です。秋にはベリーやキノコを採って食べます。
サウナも好きですし、それほど寒くない日には海で泳ぐのも好きです。ボートやカヌーに乗るのも好きです。

I also sleep so well here in Boviken. It is very silent in autumn and winter. In the summer the birds make a lot of noise and the motor boats too!
サマーハウスのあるここBovikenではよく眠れます。秋と冬にはとても静かです。夏には鳥がうるさいくらい鳴き、モーターボートが騒々しいですが。

～ここまでが、このサマーハウスで暮らす上での長所です。
　以下は短所です。～

Well, the problems can be in the winter to get to work in time. Both heavy snow and ice can make it difficult.  Now we have bought a better car that has four wheel drive. Also we can use an electric snow machine(?) so that makes it much easier for us. A negative thing is that it takes 20 minutes to drive to work instead of 5 minutes when we are in town. The gasoline bill is more expensive.
悪い点は、冬の時期大雪と凍結によって仕事に間に合わない可能性があることです。今は四駆の車を買いましたが。電気式の雪かき機を使うとより楽です。他の悪い点は、中心地区に住んでいると5分で職場に着くところを、20分かけねばならないということです。ガソリン代もたくさんかかります。

Other problems can be that the house is very small when all our children come here at Christmas. They sleep everywhere! In the summer we havemore space as we have  the small guest houses. 
その他には、クリスマスに子どもたちが帰省した際に家が小さいことです。彼らは至る所で寝ています！夏には客用の小屋が使えるのでもっと広いです。

Other wise we have most things that we need. We are going to buy a combinated fridge and freezer so that we don't have to walk to the garage all the time. There is where the freeze is now.
大抵の物はすでに揃っています。今度は冷凍庫付きの冷蔵庫を買うつもりです。そうすれば、今冷凍庫のある倉庫まで毎回歩かなくてもいいから。

As you see I have more positive than negative things!
これで分かったでしょう。悪い点より良い点の方が多いのです。

I asked the owner of this summer house “what are the good and bad in the life at this summer house?”. She pointed out lots of good and a few bad points. Here is the extraction of her e-mail. It tells us the attractive life in nature.
As I have been watching the people’s life in Sweden for four years, her life style is not specific for her but common for many Swedish.
